I'm Heather Cole, founder of Ever Grace Ceremonies, an ordained minister, Certified Funeral Celebrant, and professional ceremony writer based in St. Petersburg, Florida.

For me, this work has never been about standing in front of people.

It's about sitting beside them first.

When I'm entrusted with someone's Celebration of Life, I want to truly know the person I'm being asked to honor.

That takes time.

I may spend hours talking with family members, lifelong friends, coworkers, neighbors, or anyone who knew and loved them well. I listen to different voices and different memories because each person often holds a piece of the story that no one else does.

I want to hear the stories that still make everyone laugh. The sayings everyone remembers. The traditions they never missed. What they believed in. What drove everyone crazy about them. What they were proud of. How they loved their family. And all those little details that make someone say:

"Yes. That's exactly who they were."

By the time I sit down to write, my goal is to know your person almost like an old friend.

Because that's when a ceremony becomes more than a collection of facts and dates.

It becomes their story.

The same care goes into the weddings I officiate. I want to understand the two people standing in front of me, how they found one another, what they love about each other, and what makes their relationship uniquely theirs.

Those conversations become the foundation of every ceremony I write.

Because no two lives are the same. No two love stories are the same. And no two ceremonies should ever sound alike.

I don't believe in filling in blanks on a template.

I believe in getting to know people. And then telling their story beautifully.

The kind of ceremony that makes people laugh because they recognize the person in every word. The kind that brings tears because a memory has been captured just right. The kind that makes a family whisper:

"That was so Mom."

And the kind that allows people to leave feeling like they truly celebrated a life, rather than simply attended a service.

My Christian faith has been an important part of my life for more than 20 years, and it has shaped the way I care for people.

My faith has taught me to love people where they are, to listen before I speak, and to treat every person and every family with compassion and respect.

That means you never have to share my beliefs for me to honor yours.

Combined with my background in pastoral ministry and my professional celebrant training, this allows me to thoughtfully serve families and couples from many different faiths, traditions, and walks of life.

Some ceremonies are centered on Scripture and prayer. Others are spiritual, non-religious, or completely secular.

What matters is what you believe, what you value, and what is meaningful to you.

My role is never to make your ceremony about my story or my beliefs.

It's to faithfully tell yours.

Over the years, my work has grown beyond officiating ceremonies.

Today, I also help people preserve their stories while they're still here to tell them through life story interviews, personalized ceremony writing, keepsake books, and The Ever Grace Journal, a monthly guided writing experience created to help people capture their memories one chapter at a time.

Because I believe our stories are among the greatest gifts we'll ever leave behind.

Long after the flowers have faded, the music has ended, and everyone has gone home, the words spoken that day remain.

They become part of your family's history.

That is a responsibility I never take lightly.
